Painting – Art – Dialogue

Michael Simon lived his entire adult life in the arts. For the past sixteen years, he has been an oil painter, an abstract colorist inspired by nature. In 1966, he was doing graduate work in psychology at the University of California at Berkeley, took a summer off and studied pottery with Marguerite Wildenhain at Pond Farm, California. After three weeks, he had an epiphany and realized that this was his true calling. He wrote Berkeley and told them to give his very coveted grant to someone else. For the next twenty years, he worked as a potter, first working with Spaulding Taylor and Win Ng of Taylor and Ng in San Francisco and then as a studio potter in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He is currently writing his memoir.
